Honorable Lawal, Samusideen Adekunle popularly known as Hon. Lawee in the socio-political circle, is an Ode-Omi born grassroots politician cum astute administrator. He was born on 14th December 1975 to the family of Alhaji and Ms. Aliru Lawal Osekere in Iwade Quaters, Ode-Omi, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State. He had his primary education at Zumuratu Islamiyya primary school, Alaba, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area, and Secondary education at Amuwo-Odofin secondary school, Mile 2, Lagos. He proceeded to Moshood Abiola polytechnic, Abeokuta where he bagged Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning in the year 2004. He also possessed Diploma in Survey. During his studentship, he was actively involved in progressive unionism, where he emerged as the Right Honourable Speaker in the Student's Representatives Council. As a result of his passion for politics, he has been actively involved in grassroots politics on his home front. His political impact was much felt and applauded by the then Governor of Ogun State and now Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district, His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD). Honourable Lawal Samusideen Adekunle was one of the active/vibrant younger generation during the "OGD era". His doggedness and foresight prompted his appointment as the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) in the actualization of the OKLNG project by the government of Ogun State when he worked in a team with the likes of Ms. Yosola Akinbi, Dr. Yemi Osinaga, Mr. Aninkan, Mr.Adeoye, Mr. Ojo, Alhaji Yakasai, Hon. Segun Showunmi, Surveyor Ajayi, Surveyor Frederick Adeoba and a couple of others. In the year 2010, he contested for the position of vice Chairman, of Ogun Waterside Local Government Area under the platform of PPN. In the year 2011, and 2015, he contested for the seat of Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA), Ogun Waterside State Constituency, under the umbrella of the People's Democratic Party, PDP. In the year 2019, he also contested for Ogun House of Assembly in Ogun Waterside State Constituency under the platform of PDP where he emerged as the party's candidate in the primary election but was unable to flag-up at the election due to an intra-party crisis. Since his bid to clinch the legislative seat in the 2019 general election suffered a setback, ever valiant and ingenious Lawal Samusideen has not for once relented in his efforts in bringing succor to his people back at home in the Ogun Waterside Local Government of aquatic splendor through his numerous lives touching projects, not minding his inability to hold the office. Some of his self-sponsor contributions to the society prior to the 2023 general election include, but are not limited to the construction of the Lagbadagbugbu bridge at Ode-Omi, Provision and Installation of solar-powered street lights for security purposes throughout Ogun Waterside Local Government, distribution of food items to the aged, cash donations/assistance to the widows/widowers in the local government area, a scholarship programme for indigent pupils/students, provision of working tools to artisans and less privilege, etc. In the year 2022, Hon. Lawal Samsisudeen unanimously received huge support from the party leaders and member of the People's Democratic Party in Ogun Waterside Local Government which made him a consensus candidate of the party at the primary election. On March 18th, 2023, Hon.Lawal Samusideen won squarely, defeated other candidates for the seat of Ogun Waterside State Constituency, and was declared winner of the Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA), and was Sworn-in alongside other 25 elected members on June 20th 2023, as a distinguished member of the 10th Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ogun Waterside State Constituency. Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle (Lawee) is a successful Land Surveyor and an Estate Agent. He is the MD/CEO of MOKLAND Investment Limited. He is happily married to Mrs. Taibat Bukola Lawal and blessed with children.

Awards, Achievements and more

After his inauguration as member of the 10th Legislative Assembly, Hon Lawal remains focused and committed to the progressiveness of his beloved Ogun Waterside constituents and the people of Ogun state and Nigeria at large. Some of his achievements after the inauguration include but not limited to the construction of Ori Oke Shiloh Mini-Bridge at Ode-omi, Rehabilitation of the Ogun/Lagos Border Bridge, at Ode-omi, donation of a Generator set, fans, and Solar-Powered Street lights to the Nigerian Police in Ogun Waterside. During the 2023 Ileya (Eid-el-Kabir) Ileya gifts (Rams, Bags of rice, and cash) to Constituents, gave out free ride to Constituents from Ijebu-ode to Ogun Waterside on the eve of the last Ileya festival. He also organised Beach Carnival (the first of its kind) for Ode-omi Youths on the 2nd day of the last Ileya 2023 festival. Hon. Lawee, on July 8th 2023, Commissioned Two Borehole Projects at Toga in Ibiade ward and Lokula in Lukogbe/Ilusin ward, as well as Commissioning of Constituency Office in Abigi on the same day. On July 18th, 2023, Hon. Lawee at the OGHA floor suggested the recruitment of local security guards such as the Hunters Association, Amotekun, VGN, etc. to tackle insecurity. On July 20th, 2023 Hon. Lawal paid a courtesy visit to the Gateway Industrial Petro-Gas Institute (GIPI), Oni, which led to his submission at the plenary for the upgrading of the only higher institution in Ogun Waterside. On July 25th, 2023, Hon. Lawee raised alarm over the flood covering the only road linking Ayede/Lomiro and Ayila/Itebu before OGHA On August 3rd, 2023 Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle was appointed Chairman House Committee on Environment and Vice Chairman of Lands and Housing. On August 3rd, 2023 Hon. Lawal Samusideen presented before the House, a petition written by the Onirokun of Irokun Kingdom, HRM Oba Buhari Ola Balogun, on the illegal encroachment on Irokun land by the Ondo State government. On August 25th 2023 at the plenary, Hon. Lawal Samusideen presented before the House, the petition filed by the Ogun Waterside Patriotic Forum on the long-time power outage in the entire local government area. On September 12th 2023, the Vice Chairman House Committee on Lands and Housing, Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle co-sponsor the motion for the amendment of the anti-land grabbing law. The Chairman House Committee on Environment facilitated the inspection of all the Transformers and electric cables in the constituency by the Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services Team, as well as the assessment of the causes of the power outage on September 13th 2023. Hon. Lawal secured admission slots for four students from Ogun Waterside into the Ogun State School of Nursing. Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle, at the resumption of the new session, donated School Uniforms, Exercise Books, and School Bags to School Children in his constituency. On September 27th 2023, Hon. Lawal flagged off the Hon. Lawee Empowerment/Skills Acquisition Training to constituents. On September 27th 2023, Hon. Lawal Samusideen Adekunle (Lawee), donated Twenty New Sets of Football Jerseys to 20 Football Clubs in preparation for Hon. Lawee Football League in Ogun Waterside.
