Honourable AbdulRasheed Kashamu was born in Banjul, Gambia on the 7th of November, 1996 by the late Senator Buruji and Mrs Jamila Kashamu. He had his primary education at Zenith Preparatory School, Lagos, after which he went to Greensprings Schools, Lekki, Lagos, where he sat for his International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in 2013. Thereafter, he proceeded to Brunel University, London, where he had B. Sc in International Business with a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours in 2017. In his quest for more knowledge, Honourable AbdulRasheed Kashamu enrolled for a Master of Science (M. Sc) degree in International Financial Management at the University of Surrey. He graduated with Merit in 2018. As a law-abiding citizen, Honourable AbdulRasheed Kashamu returned to Nigeria in 2019 to observe the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria where he served in the Deals Advisory Department. Upon the completion of the service, he worked at BWC Group of Companies with interests in real estate, hospitality and automobile industry.

Awards, Achievements and more

Honourable Kashamu is young, smart and enviably educated across continents, with vast experience in real estate, finance, management, Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Until recently, Honourable Kashamu sat on the Board of many companies. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of NewtonGate Consult Ltd. He also doubled as the Chairman of BWC Hotel, a top notch hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. In April 2022, he emerged as the sole and consensus House of Assembly candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Ijebu North Constituency 1. After running a vigorous campaign that took him to all the nooks and crannies of the Constituency, he was elected by the good people of Ijebu-Igbo into the Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA) as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ijebu North Constituency 1 on the 18th of March, 2023, with over 10,000 votes.
